Under a Foreign Rain weaves a dialogue between images and stories where multiple immigrant voices and faces intertwine through videotape and postcards, creating a modern Tower of Babel. 

Twenty years later, the director revisits archives filmed on analog tapes and proposes a play of gazes, constructing a reflection across different times: the life of her grandfather, who immigrated to Europe in the 1920s; the present of people sending messages to their loved ones with a longing to return to their homelands in Morocco, Palestine, Colombia, India; and the ghostly text of a young Ghanaian who perishes in the Mediterranean before reaching his destination.

The film hovers over the city of Vic in Catalonia amidst fog, pig slaughterhouses, human castles, and the idealization of the "land of the whites" gradually cracking apart.

Bajo una lluvia ajena, teje un diálogo entre imágenes e historias donde múltiples voces y rostros inmigrantes se entrelazan a través de videocartas y postales, creando una Torre de Babel imaginaria.

Luego de 23 años, la directora retoma archivos que filmó en cintas análogas y plantea un juego de miradas donde construye una reflexión en varios tiempos: la vida de su abuelo, que emigró en los años 20 a Europa; el presente de las personas que envían mensajes a sus seres queridos con su anhelo de regresar a sus territorios en Marruecos, Palestina, Colombia, India; y el texto mítico de un joven ghanés que naufraga en el Mediterráneo antes de llegar a su destino.

La película sobrevuela la ciudad de Vic en Cataluña entre la niebla, los mataderos de cerdos, castillos humanos y la idealización del “país de los blancos” que se agrieta poco a poco.
